OVERVIEW:

Sunday Night is Photo Night returns for a Level V, again under the guidance of Dr. Brett L. Erickson, photographer, master printer, philosopher, and educator.

Join George Nobechi’s own first photography teacher in advancing your understanding of the journey toward a color photo series.

This class is available only to graduates of Sunday Night is Photo Night Levels I, II, III and IV.

October 9th, 2022: Understanding Color, the Eye, and Art.

October 23rd, 2022: Color Intent and the Photograph.

November 6th, 2022: The Interaction of Color: Hues and Harmonies.

November 20th, 2022: Meaningful Color: Simile and Metaphor.

December 4th, 2022: Color as Language: Thread and Theme.

December 18th, 2022: Sensation: Color, Spectacle, and Restraint.

notes:

This course will be conducted live on Zoom across six Sundays.

Sessions will be recorded in case you miss a session, but it is not advisable to miss more than two sessions so that you can maximize your live feedback time with Brett.

About Dr. Brett L. Erickson

A photographer whose images have won acclaim internationally, Dr. Brett L. Erickson's work has shown in locations such as London, England; Belfast, Ireland; Laguna Beach, California; Kamloops, British Columbia; Santa Fe, New Mexico; SoHo, New York City; and Berlin, Germany. In 2020-2021, Dr. Erickson was one of 35 photographers invited to teach as part of Nobechi Creative's "Evenings with the Masters®" series.

Dr. Erickson previously served as Morton and Ella Steinhart Professor of Visual Arts at Hastings College, where he supervised both the photography and digital development programs, and taught design, photography, and online development.  The Hastings College Student Alumni Association presented him with its award for exemplary teaching in 2005, and in 2015 he was honored with the Hastings College Art Alumni Exhibition. In 2017 he was selected as the Fall Artist Lecture Series Invited Faculty Lecturer, Hastings' highest faculty honor. He is also sponsored by Hahnemühle, one of the world’s oldest and most prestigious art paper companies.
