An online seminar series with Amber Terranova

February 21st - 23th, 2025

with optional portfolio review sessions on February 28th and March 1st

11:00AM CST / 12:00PM EST / 9:00AM PST

OVERVIEW:

In this comprehensive seminar for Nobechi Creative, returning instructor Amber Terranova offers an inside look at the fine art photography market, featuring quotes and insights from candid conversations with several accomplished artists who will share their personal journeys to exhibiting their work.

After receiving countless inquiries from photographers asking how to navigate the often-intimidating world of fine art, Amber has designed her first course to demystify the process of getting your work into galleries, museums, festivals, and other creative spaces. Questions like, How do I approach a gallerist? and What’s the best way to package my work for submission? will be answered as Amber walks you through the steps of presenting a cohesive, compelling portfolio to curators, gallerists, and other professionals in the fine art world.

What You’ll Learn:

  • How to package and present your photography to gallerists, curators, and other fine art professionals.

  • Tips on navigating competitions, festivals, and “call for entries” to maximize your time and financial investment.

  • Case studies featuring emerging, mid-career, and established artists to offer insight into their creative processes and strategies.

  • How to position yourself within both traditional and non-traditional platforms—from galleries and museums to online and alternative spaces.

This seminar is perfect for photographers who want to gain a pulse on current trends and exhibitions while learning about innovative ways artists are shaping their careers today. Amber will guide participants through interactive lectures with slideshows, offering valuable resources to help you build your fine art toolkit. Each session will conclude with a 30-minute discussion and Q&A, where you can ask questions and get specific guidance in a small group setting.

Structure

  • The first hour of each session will cover key aspects of the fine art market, from approaching curators to building a strong project.

  • The last 30 minutes will be an open forum for discussion and Q&A, giving you the opportunity to dive deeper into the material with Amber and your peers.

As part of this seminar, participants will also have the option to join individual portfolio review sessions, where Amber will provide constructive feedback on the quality and edit of your work for fine art submissions. The goal is to refine your portfolio to present the best version of your work. These 20-minute sessions are exclusively available to seminar participants.
